How many hypnotherapists do you think there are in Australia?

Surprisingly few!

I was recently asked this question at a hypnotherapy meeting (yes, we have meetings ;) )

The answer came as a big surprise to me as I imagined there were at least a couple of thousand of us spread across the land.

In fact, there are less than 650 registered hypnotherapists in Australia

I must admit, it made me feel a bit special :)

To clarify, there may be many more practitioners who perform hypnosis or hypnotherapy BUT, they may not be eligible to be registered with our industry peak body, the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia (HCA)

To become a registered member of the HCA, there are quite rightly, many hoops to jump.

I need to have a certain level of qualification from a reputable and registered training organisation. Unfortunately, there are $200 online courses someone can complete and receive a 'hypnotherapy certificate'.

In addition, I am a member of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA) which requires me to be fully insured, trained in First Aid, participate in monthly supervision, have regular continuing professional development and abide by a code of conduct.

So when you come to see me, or another HCA registered hypnotherapist, you know you're getting the 'real deal' and not someone who has learnt hypnosis via You Tube.

To find out if hypnotherapy may be of help to you, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation.
